A hastily-scrawled note warning of a snake in a toilet at a key tourist spot was snapped by a bemused Nullawarre resident this week.
The note, hand-written on the back of an envelope and fixed to a pole with a rubber band at Murnane Bay near Childers Cove, featured an artistic representation of a snake accompanied by the words ‘danger snake in toilet’ and the time of sighting.
The Nullawarre resident did not investigate further.
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning said at the beginning of snake season tiger snakes and lowland copperheads were the most likely to be found in coastal areas.
