April West, 20, of Foster Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to drink driving and driving in a dangerous manner.
She was not convicted, fined $1000 and banned from driving for 17 months.
Police said that at 1.10am on September 30 West was travelling east along the Princes Highway at Boorcan in a Hyundai when she was detected on radar at 155km/h in a 100 zone.
She was intercepted, tested positive and later recorded an alcohol reading of .179.
West told a police officer she was heading to Geelong and "just wanted to get there".
She told magistrate Cynthia Toose she moved from Warrnambool to Melbourne but returned a few months ago to be closer to family and friends.
West said after the move she had hit rock bottom.
She said she had now moved back to Melbourne with her sister and found work.
The defendant said she did not know what she was thinking when she was caught by police.
Ms Toose said West had a propensity to speed but driving at 155km/h when .179 was a "complete recipe for disaster".
"I think something was going on that day. It's not just about you but also the safety of others road users," Ms Toose said.
"You were a danger on the roads that day," she said.
