‘Class Clowns 2018’ will kick off in Warrnambool March 15 as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Teenagers in Years 9 to 12 will push side-splitting limits in an effort to win cash prizes for themselves or their school.
The nationwide comedy competition challenges students to five minutes original stand-up, sketch or musical comedy in return for cash prizes for themselves or their school.
Warrnambool’s Dirty Angel funnyman Aidan Nicolson said he hoped his city’s young-guns were amongst the country’s funniest.
“We’d love to see a south-west teen take home the top honour,” he said.
“We need English and Drama departments from all over the district to include Class Clowns into their Term 1 curriculum and we need interested students to sign up now.”
