Port Fairy is also expected to hit 37, Hamilton and Portland should reach 36 and Mortlake can expect a top of 35.
As the scorcher approaches, people are being reminded that hot weather can affect anybody, particularly the elderly, pregnant women and the very young.
Parents were also warned of the dangers of leaving children and pets in cars.
Ambulance Victoria found that even on a 29-degree day the inside of a car can reach 44 degrees within 10 minutes and hit 60 degrees within 20 minutes.
The hot weather won’t last, however, with temperatures forecast to dip to 21 degrees on Thursday with some showers predicted.
The mercury will climb slightly over Friday and the weekend, before heating up to about 26 degrees on Monday.
