Brooke Emma Perry, 25, of Norman Street, Warrnambool, was stopped by police in a Ford on Warrnambool's Aberline Road at about 1pm on September 28 this year.

She admitted she was driving with a suspended licence, but told police she had driven to the bank to get money.

Police stopped Perry again on October 9 driving a Holden ute in Dennington while still suspended and she tested positive  to drugs.

Perry told police she knew her licence was suspended, but she needed to go shopping.

Ice was detected in her system.

Magistrate Cynthia Toose said she did not think Perry grasped the seriousness of the offending.

"Having been intercepted by police, you go driving again within 10 to 11 days for shopping," she said.

"It's not really good enough, it would have to be for something better than that."

Perry's father told the court he was extremely disappointed in his daughter's behaviour and said her family would support her to ensure it didn't happen again.

Ms Toose said Perry had shown "absolutely no regard for the road rules whatsoever" and put other road users’ safety at risk.

"Every day when we open the newspaper, we see people who have been maimed or killed as a result of significant motor vehicle collisions," she said.

Perry was charged with drug driving and two counts of driving while suspended.

She was suspended for another five months and was fined $1000, with no conviction recorded.
