The $60,000 piece of play equipment was established as part of the Leadership Great South Coast program, with Wayne Robertson, Sue Cassidy, Carly Jordan and Angela Gowans making up the project team. The idea stemmed from Mrs Cassidy, who said she wanted a carousel that all children could use.
The playground, on Cramer Street, underwent a $120,000 upgrade in 2016, with the addition of contemporary playground equipment.
Funding for the carousel came from the Variety charity, the AL Lane Foundation and Cassign.
