Becoming the only player to notch successive centuries this season, Bant crafted a total of 103 to help Allansford to a commanding 287-run total against Nirranda at stumps.
Gators coach Dan Schuppan said smart decision-making was paying dividends for Bant.
“From a bowling point of view, I always say you can’t control whether you get a wicket,” Schuppan said.
“You’re relying on the batsman to make a mistake. With Chris, he’s defending the good balls and he’s making the right decisions.
“He’s not hitting big sixes. He’s been patient and that’s paying off.”
Schuppan said it was vital for Bant to continue to press on after reaching big scores.
“It doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s made two brilliant hundreds, but we want Chris to go on even after that,” he said.
“It was fantastic for him to get back-to-back tons. He batted really well with Mitch Clark, who managed to put 63 on the board.”
Allansford is looming as a genuine premiership threat in first place mid-way through round 10.
Schuppan said he was pleased with his side’s progress and felt they’d gelled well since the start of the season, despite several new faces joining the team.
