The program for the Lighthouse Theatre’s 2018 season was launched on Thursday night. In all, 19 productions have been locked in.
These include performances from Debra Byrne and Vika Bull, Circus Oz, Opera Australia, Damian Callinan, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Monkey Baa Theatre Company, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, shake & stir and HIT Productions.
Lighthouse Theatre manager Mik Frawley said the productions, which include opera, cabaret, drama, comedy, dance and music, were selected with a theme in mind.
“Part of the enduring power of live performance is that it holds a mirror up to life, to show us ourselves,” he said.
“The shows we’ve selected for 2018 are about you. Your family and friends. Your passions. Your place in the world. These shows are us, in all our beauty and futility and joy and humanity.”
