Mrs Gardenia scored a strong win over Heavenly Descent and Fudged in a $100,000 restricted fillies and mares race.
Weir’s Warrnambool foreman Jarrod McLean said Mrs Gardenia had performed consistently during the spring, winning three of her five starts.
“She ran a great race to finish second in the Summoned Stakes last time,” McLean said.
“She’s got a bright career in front of her as she’s been lightly raced and got plenty of upside.
“Saturday’s race was a big drop in class from the Summoned.
“I’m not sure what Weir’s got in mind for her but hopefully she’ll keep on racing as there are some nice races over the Christmas period which she will be very competitive in.”
Meanwhile, the Terang Racing Club hosts a bumper 10-race program on Monday.
Stewards rated the track a soft six when they inspected the course at 9am on Sunday.
