Director Matt Northeast decided to donate a swag for every home the business sold during September and October. Brophy Family and Youth Services will distribute the 24 swags to people in need.
“We realise this isn’t going to fix the problem but it could provide some temporary relief while people take their next step into permanent accommodation,” Mr Northeast said.
Brophy CEO Francis Broekman said young people in the south west tended to couch-surf a lot.
“They are fairly itinerant and to have a swag will give them flexibility and help them to stay in someone’s lounge room without impacting too much on the household,” he said
Mr Northeast said his company worked closely with Brophy’s Private Rental Assistance Program to help find people homes. The program assists with financial support from Brophy.
