A FORMER Warrnambool man arrested at the Sherwood Park train station on Saturday has been charged with eight counts of trafficking drugs and prescription medication.

Sergeant Cameron Ross, of the Warrnambool police divisional response unit, said that after information was received on Saturday afternoon the 33-year-old from Sunshine west was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
A search of his backpack located numerous drugs including ice, ecstasy and cocaine and prescription medications such an Oxycontin.
The man was remanded in custody by a bail justice charged with eight counts of trafficking drugs and prescription medication.
He was found in possession of almost 10 grams of what is believed to be ecstasy.
The man will appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday for a bail/remand hearing.
