Allansford’s talent-laden bowling stocks are sharing the load as they strive to lock-down top spot in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association.
The Gators’ bowling attack dismantled Wesley-CBC on Saturday, but it wasn’t without difficulty.
Beavers’ batsman Ryan McArdle (35 runs) gave Wesley-CBC a glimmer of hope, pushing them within four runs of victory at the last ball.
Schuppan, Allansford’s first-year coach, said a varied bowling attack was paying dividends for his side.
“Good teams find a way to win in those tight situations, and that’s the pleasing thing for us,” he said.
“We’ve had some very tight games, and we’ve had some dominant wins where the opposition haven’t had a chance.
“We’re winning differently every week, and different people are contributing.”
Schuppan lauded McArdle’s efforts with the bat.
“He batted well and taught us a few things about how to go about it,” he said.
“He really stuck in and gave it a really good crack. He made it tough.”
