The 190-centimetre utility signed for the Seagulls last week after torn ankle ligaments sustained in pre-season meant Schnerring missed the entire 2017 season with North Ballarat.
A Williamstown statement said Schnerring, along with fellow signing Nick Richards, would add depth to the club’s playing stocks.
“Having played a variety of roles at North Ballarat including back, forward and as a big-bodied midfielder, Schnerring will provide the Seagulls with further flexibility with team selection,” the statement read.
Schnerring played 16 games with Roosters in 2016, marking a strong comeback from an ACL injury sustained with the club’s TAC Cup affliate in 2015.
