Emergency services throughout the south-west have received grants for new vehicles and building work as part of the state government’s Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program.

Regional Country Fire Authority brigades to receive funds for vehicles and appliances include: Casterton, $170,000; Timboon, $123,833; North Hamilton, $113,500; Condah, $30,000.
Regional State Emergency Service units to get funds for vehicles were: Hamilton, $52,846; Warrnambool, $50,837; Dunkeld, $48,701. The Mortlake SES unit received $6785 for building refurbishment.
Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club got $26,229 for life saving equipment and building works.
The grants were part of $13 million in grants awarded under the 2017-18 program.
Emergency Services Minister James Merlino said the funding would help the volunteer organisations get equipment to keep communities safe.
