Free-scoring Cobden blasted 236 to inspire a hard-fought triumph over Camperdown last week.
Benallack is chasing more of the same as they strive for a third-successive victory against Terang on Saturday.
“We’ve been a bit lean on runs in recent seasons, so we’ve put two good scores on the board and that gives us a fair bit of confidence going in to this one,” he said.
“We just want to put a good score on the board to give our bowlers every chance of bowling them out.
“But with that said, even though we’re favourites, Terang won’t dish up another performance like last week. We can’t afford to be complacent.”
The first-year captain said a strong start was on Cobden’s radar and he was pleased with his side’s efforts.
“We looked at the draw and saw that we had heaps of games at home after Christmas so we thought we’d try to set up as many as we can early on in the piece,” Benallack said.
He said Cobden had been hit by several unavailabilities for its clash with Terang due to weddings and work commitments.
