Sunday’s spring gardening weather provided the perfect atmosphere to showcase Warrnambool community garden during its annual open day.
The day’s activities included workshops on keeping backyard chooks and moon planting as well as a biochar demonstration and garden tours.
There were plenty of children’s activities, face-painting, live music, and a scarecrow competition which added some extra colour to the garden.
Committee convener Julie Eagles said interest in the community garden had continued to grow since the first earth was turned on the site in 2009.
“People are very interested in where their food comes from,” she said.
“The community garden is all about sharing and working together.”
