While wary of beaten grand finalist Terang, Bourke believed his side was among the top two in the competition and was confident of securing a result on Saturday.
I reckon we’ve got a good side. I think we’re probably in the top two but we’re not getting overconfident.
- Gus Bourke
“I reckon we’ve got a good side. I think we’re probably in the top two but we’re not getting overconfident,” he said.
“I think we’ve got a young bowling attack – three or four of us are under 23.
“Our batting is probably our main strength. We’ve got a lot of experienced guys in there and guys who have made a lot of runs over the years.”
Bourke, who crossed to captain Noorat from division two outfit Boorcan last season, said Terang wouldn’t be taken lightly despite several off-season departures.
He expected the Terang turf pitch to play a vital role in the match.
“Turf is always a bit up and down at this time of year,” Bourke said.
“I know Terang has lost a few players and they might be a little down but we can’t be overconfident.”
