Heroes come in all shapes and sizes and at Brauer College on Thursday there were no exceptions.
Students dressed as Superman and Batman and as everyday heroes such as police officers and surf lifesavers for the Be a Hero Day, an annual event to raise money and awareness for muscular dystrophy (MD).
Teacher Anna Gage said it began three years ago when students wanted to support past students Aaron and Christopher Gillin who were born with MD. Sadly Aaron lost his battle last month, aged 24, Their dad Ashley works at the college. “Those boys have touched everybody’s hearts as they’ve come through. We’ve really enjoyed having them in our classes as teachers and to be able to do this to support them is something small we can do.”
