The occasion was the Warrnambool Toy Library’s Messy Play Day at the Civic Green.
Children got the chance to roll their sleeves up and squish fun things such as slime, jelly, spaghetti and play-doh.
There was plenty for the adults to do as well with a wide range of craft and food stalls set up.
The Warrnambool Art Gallery also got in on the fun, with children’s activities in its front foyer.
Warrnambool Toy Library president Bonnie Lucas said the day was a great success.
“This is the second year we have had this day and the crowd has definitely grown,” Ms Lucas said.
