A Country Fire Authority spokeswoman said the fire near Mailors Flat was called in at 8.2opm.
The fire could be seen from Caramut Road looking out to Mailros Flat.
“It was under control by 8.28pm,” the spokeswoman said.
She said the police attended at the grass/scrub fire.
“Police were on the scene for traffic control as there was smoke and embers in the area,” the spokeswoman said.
“It was under control within eight minutes of it being called in which was excellent.”
Four trucks attended the fire, including two from Winlsow, and one from Warrnambool and Woodford.
