Speculation is mounting that embattled dairy cooperative Murray Goulburn is seeking government help after its executives met with state regional development minister Jaala Pulford.

A spokesman for Ms Pulford said last week’s meeting gave her an update on the company's business and financial outlook.
The spokesman did not say whether a request for government help was made and said “it would be unhelpful to speculate further while the company considers its commercial options.”
