Dylan Nelson is the co-owner of The Hub in Port Fairy with his wife Riley and Riley’s dad Craig Hood. The couple recently moved to the town from Warrnambool and are awaiting the arrival of their first child in January. Dylan plays football for Port Fairy and when the couple aren’t working in the cafe they enjoy spending time with friends and family.

What do you most love about living in Port Fairy? The beaches, its sense of community and the fact that everyone says hello when you walk down the street.
Describe Port Fairy in five words? Busy, picturesque, cafes, pubs and beaches.
If you could live anywhere where would you choose? Port Fairy.
What's on your bedside table right now? The book Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.
Tea or coffee? Coffee, always.
What is your favourite holiday destination? The Greek Islands or anywhere in the Mediterranean.
What are you reading at the moment? Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it? Pay off the house and The Hub and go on a holiday.
What would your ideal Sunday involve? Time with friends, a barbecue and beers.
What is something people might not know about you? That I’m a very talented singer (joking).
Do you sleep talk or sleep walk? I snore but that’s about it.
If you could choose to go back 100 years or forward what would you do and why? I’d go back because you know the results. You could gamble on all the AFL premiers and win.
What recipe are you renowned for cooking for family or friends? Spaghetti bolognaise.
If you had all the time in the world to pursue and perfect any hobby what would it be? I’d have a go at an NBA basketball career. I’d have to grow a few inches though.
When and where are you your most happiest? With my wife.
What is the best piece of advice you've been given? That my wife is always right.
Do you have a motto you live by? To try and make other people happy.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years? I try not to look too far ahead but I’d like a full family and a nice place to have Christmas dinner.
