Alec McLeod, 20, of Gladstone Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to 15 charges including threatening to distribute an intimate image and multiple counts of threatening to inflict serious injury, theft and obtaining property by deception.
He was jailed for the 39 days he had already spent in custody and ordered to serve an 18-month community corrections order with conditions he do assessment, treatment rehabilitation and programs as requested.
Police said McLeod cashed in his landlord's DVD player and DVDs for $10 at Cash Coverters, was involved in a fight with a man and in the space of a few days sent a woman 447 text messages.
On September 2 he also threatened to release a nude photo of her.
He told police he was jealous and stressed.
Magistrate Noreen Toohey said McLeod's behaviour was completely inappropriate.
She said he had no prior court appearances and he had made a spectacular entrance into the criminal justice system.
