The summer competition, which is for tennis players aged nine to 17, runs for 15 weeks, breaking over the school holidays. The grading will see players ranked and play matches accordingly.
“It’s for players who can already serve and are ready to start matches,” Lawn Tennis Club junior co-ordinator Carolyn Mahony said.
“There’s lots of kids out there who are having lessons, and the next step is to starting have games.”
The grading day runs from 10am until about 12noon, and doubles as a registration day for all competitors.
Mahony said competitors could register at the club or online.
The season, which is pencilled in to start October 28, will see players compete in two doubles matches and one singles match on Saturday mornings between 9.15am and 12 noon.
