Police arrest Camperdown's Ben Smart

WARRNAMBOOL police have arrested wanted Camperdown man Ben Smart in Cobden.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Raven, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said Mr Smart was arrested about noon Wednesday.

Police issued a whereabouts alert for Mr Smart on Tuesday.

He was wanted for questioning in relation to a domestic violence incident in Camperdown on Saturday which resulted in a woman suffering head and chest injuries.

Mr Smart is currently being interviewed by detectives about his involvement in that incident.​

Detective Sergeant Raven thanked members of their public for their assistance in tracking down Mr Smart.

"As always, without the assistance of the public is would be extremely difficult for police members to do our job," he said.

"The information we received from members of the public was invaluable," he said.
