Hamilton police Sergeant Gavin Blair said the accident happened out the front of the Dunkeld Tourist Information Centre just before 11am on Wednesday.
He said a truck collided with the rear of the vehicle in which the couple were travelling.
They suffered minor injuries and were conveyed to the Hamilton hospital for assessment and treatment.
"The accident happened in a 50km/h zone. We request all drivers to obey speed zone restrictions and be mindful when driving in buitt-up areas," Sergeant Blair said.
"A lack of concentration by the truck driver may have contributed to the accident," he said.
