AN UNBEATEN haul from all-rounder Kyall Timms has launched Allansford beyond Nestles, despite two encouraging efforts from Factory’s young brigade.

Timms went for four runs an over with the ball, but nailed a game-high 45 runs to help the Gators crunch Nestles by five wickets on Saturday.

Gators mentor Dan Schuppan described Timms’ efforts as “the difference between the two sides”.

“I like to go on sectionals – if you break the innings into four sections, you can see where you’re at. Our first two sectionals were very similar to Nestles’,” Schuppan said.

“We took three quick wickets with the ball, and then they took three quick wickets.

“The difference was that Kyall was able to get himself going and he just hit a couple of boundaries which was the biggest difference in the end.”

Schuppan said his team still had several areas of improvement despite securing the victory.

“(Allansford captain) Chris Bant said earlier in the week that winning is a habit, and so is losing,” he said.

“I’m big on not losing back-to-back wickets in any form of cricket and we gave them three early ones, so that’s an area we can improve.”

Allansford will lock horns with West Warrnambool at J.F. McLean Oval.
