Meulendyks re-signed with Hamilton last week after spending two seasons interstate, one of which was at South Australian National Football League powerhouse Central Districts.
Dunn, who also re-signed with the Melville Oval club a fortnight ago, said Meulendyks would join his coaching panel as an assistant.
“We’ve kept in contact with Tim, and we certainly supported him going to have a crack at that higher level,” Dunn said.
“With work he was playing country footy (in Finley), but we knew he was keen to throw his hat into the coaching ring and it was a good fit for both parties.”
Dunn expected Meulendyks to play the majority of his football through midfield.
“It’s probably where he plays his best footy. He’s capable of kicking a goal or two and also giving us some drive from half-back,” he said.
Dunn said Jarrod O’Brien (Central Districts) and Sam Quinn (overseas) were the club’s only departures.
