Leishman, who will represent the Internationals at the New Jersey-based tournament, was the best-performed Australian on the FedExCup standings.
He finished the season-long points tally in sixth spot. Fellow Australian Jason Day was the next best at 18.
Leishman, who won the penultimate tournament, the BMW Championship, finished behind American quartet Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele and Spaniard Jon Rahm.
He finished tied for 24th at the season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta on Monday morning, Australian standard time.
He carded three-over par for the tournament – 15 shots behind winner Schauffele.
Leishman will join Day, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama, Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, Branden Grace, Jhonattan Vegas, Adam Hadwin, Anribran Lahiri, Emilano Grillo in the International team to take on the US at the Presidents Cup.
