The two-time Maskell Medal winner led the Saints to a flag for the fourth time in four years. His premiership tally as a player now stands at an imposing six.
Templeton, who had a delayed start to the season due to injury, said Port Fairy pushed Koroit to the wire.
“I was nervous the whole game really because we couldn’t really relax and enjoy it during the game which we usually can,” he said.
“I think when it started to rain (we got the edge). We were going in a bit harder than they were, and we always knew if we kept it out of their good players’ hands that it would come to us.”
