Star goal attack Eloise Swarbrick was lost for words after the feat – in which she claimed best-on-court honours – declaring the Seagulls had achieved a long-held goal.

The Seagulls burst out of the blocks, lowering the colours of junior netball powerhouse South Warrnambool with a dominant 31-24 triumph.

Swarbrick told The Standard the side set out to “make history” and was delighted to finally clinch a 15 and under premiership.

“It’s amazing. It’s our first 15 and under or juniors win and the girls are just so proud. We made history and that was our aim,” she said.

“We wanted to be a champion team, and to work together… That was our goal, and we succeeded. 

“It’s an amazing feeling, the girls are just so excited.” 

The talented tennis player hailed the tight-knit nature of her team and said it was vital in pushing for the premiership.

“Our girls, together, are so strong. We’ve grown so much and we’ve bonded together. We were down, and then we were up, and it’s an amazing feeling to know we can rely on each other.”

Seagulls co-coaches Alicia Moloney and Stacey Dwyer said their side perfectly executed the game plan.

They described the feat as a “complete team performance”.

“The past few weeks, they’ve really jelled together as a team,” Moloney said.

“We’ve come together throughout the week to settle our nerves with some team bonding and come onto the court firing.”
