Musgrove saddles up Abebe for the Great Western Steeplechase, Solas, They Call Me Sven and Marilisa in the maiden hurdle and Tangara runs in a restricted hurdle.
“Abebe is the best of my runners,” Musgrove said. “He’s a novice chaser. He’ll be improved by his debut run over fences at Morphettville earlier this month. I think he’s got a bit of a future over jumps next year. He’s tough, rock hard fit and should run well.
“The steeplechase looks a good race on paper with The Narcissistic, Surging Wave and Pentomatic having strong chances.”
The respected horseman, who has been the backbone for jumps racing in Victoria for more than 15 years, said the future looks bright for the sport.
