But for the 20-year-old, a senior grand final has been elusive. Until now.
Mitchell is relishing the chance to compete against high-flying Camperdown in Saturday’s Hampden league open netball grand final.
The tall goal shooter will enter the clash in league-best form, averaging 38.5 goals per game.
“The role I’ve had has just been to get as many goals for the team as I can,” Mitchell said.
“I’m pretty happy with my form and our form. I’ve played with a few different people in goals this season and it probably changes the way I play a bit.
We tend to match up pretty well across the court, and I think it’ll definitely be physical.

“We’ve changed it around a bit and it’s worked against a few different teams so we’re feeling good about it.”
Mitchell expected Camperdown – last season’s losing grand finalist – to bring a physical contest in pursuit of their first premiership.
“We tend to match up pretty well across the court, and I think it’ll definitely be physical,” she said.
“It’s been good to have a rest after the second semi-final. We had a good training session on Saturday and in facing Camperdown, we’re feeling fairly prepared.
“We had a pretty solid win against North Warrnambool Eagles in the second semi-final and it was one of our better games over the season.
“When they fought back, I thought we stepped it up another level so hopefully we can carry that through into the grand final.”
The former South Warrnambool goaler admitted excitement ahead of her first senior netball grand final.
Koroit made it to last season’s preliminary final before crashing out to arch rival Port Fairy. The 2017 open grand final will begin at 1.30pm on Saturday.
