Sitting members John Hutson, Steven Waterhouse and John Krygger have put their hands back up to regain spots, while Michael McCluskey has thrown his hat into the ring in an effort to fill one of the three vacant positions.
Hutson has been on the committee for 18 years, Waterhouse eight years and Krygger was seconded by the WRC in July this year to replace former chairman Ashley King who resigned after 18 years.
McCluskey, who has raced and bred numerous horses, said he had plenty to offer to fill one of the vacancies.
“I believe my strong grounding in the racing industry should stand me in good stead,” he said.
“I’ve got a passionate interest and background in finance and economics which I think will be a valuable contribution to the Warrnambool Racing Club.”
Postal vote forms will be mailed out to more than 1700 Warrnambool Racing Club members within the next week. The result will be announced at the annual general meeting of the club on October 26.
