The club has undertaken maintenance on the track the past couple of months since receiving a council permit to trim back overgrowth and make the track safe for riders.
It will resume operations this Sunday with a free come-and-try day, which vice-president Leigh Dufty said was open to riders of all ages and abilities.
“There’s no licence or insurance needed; everyone is covered with the come-and-try day,” he said.
Dufty did not expect the recent rains to adversely affect the track.
“It’s a little bit greasy when it’s raining, but it’s draining really well,” he said. “Saturday and Sunday are meant to be pretty good, so it should be perfect for Sunday.”
The come-and-try day will run from 11am until 1pm at Thunderpoint on Sunday, with a free barbecue and information available to anyone wanting to know more about the club and its new membership structures.
The club’s major event, the TP 180, is expected to be held in early November.
