A Warrnambool father is pleading for public information to help catch vicious thugs who left him with a broken nose and fractured eye socket in an early morning assault. The 45-year-old, who wants to remain anonymous, was dozing on his couch watching a re-run of the football when he heard his dogs barking on Saturday morning.

Two children were also asleep in the Wayamba Court home.
“I opened the front and had a peek outside,” he said.
“I walked out a bit further and saw someone in my car. I yelled out and I got to the side of the car. The bloke that was in there pushed me over and as I was going down another bloke came around the front of the car and kicked me. I couldn’t see it coming. I couldn’t get my hands up quick enough. It all happened in a matter of 15 seconds. I wasn’t expecting it.”
He felt instant pain before adrenaline kicked in. The offenders ran off and the victim is pleading with the public to come forward if they know anything.
“Somebody out there knows,” he said.
“Mates will be talking and bragging. Don’t feel yourself to be too little to dob somebody in. What’s happened to me is done and dusted – I can’t change anything, but by dobbing these people in, it might be able to stop it from happening to anyone else.”
Anyone who may have seen the offenders in the area late on Friday night or early Saturday morning should contact Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
