A FIRE has partially destroyed a 200-metre long wool storage shed at the Hamilton railway station.

The alarm was raised at 4.45pm on Monday and firefighters from five Country Fire Authority units took about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
The shed - which is 10m wide and about 200m long - was locked and not being used.
The fire started at the eastern end of the shed and that end of the building was destroyed.
Detective Sergeant Mark James, of the Hamilton police crime investigation unit, said the cause of the fire was not known and officers are investigating.
