That day, the Seagulls were shown up by a team than knows what it takes to go all the way, but former VFL player Robinson expects a big response from his team when the sides clash again in Saturday’s semi-final.

“We got a fair touch-up last time we faced Koroit and I got a real touch-up from (Jeremy) Hausler, but I reckon I wasn’t the only one,” he said.

“It’s not about redemption or anything like that: we’re still more focused on ourselves and our game and what we learnt from that loss.

“Koroit has won the last few flags and they’re a bloody good side – it’s probably one of the best sides I’ve come up against in terms of being a team and being a unit.

“They showed us how to play like a team.”

Robinson, who returned to the Seagulls this year after stints with VFL clubs Geelong and Port Melbourne, said last Saturday’s hard-fought win against South Warrnambool had been the ideal start to finals. “To pull through that with the win was character building and confidence boosting.”
