Grant will play at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre on Friday and then at the Lighthouse Theatre in Warrnambool on Saturday.
It is Grant’s 10th visit to Australia and will be the third time she has played in the south-west.
The strong Celtic ties of the area will not be the only familiar thing for Grant.
“I was raised on a dairy farm and I loved that time helping my father and brothers,” Grant said.
“We milked 150 cows and we had Hereford bulls I used to take to the local shows.
“I’m looking forward to seeing some dairy cow herds down that way.
“It’s a tough time all over for dairy farmers, supermarkets have dropped the prices so it’s hard for farmers to make a living.”
Grant is hoping her shows in the south-west will provide plenty of entertainment for her fans.
While she grew up playing traditional Irish and Scottish music, Grant’s great musical love is country.
“I have been heavily influenced by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Marty Robbins and those big country performers,” Grant said.
“Haggard was such an honest songwriter and I have modeled my style on him.
“I have 15 albums of songs I have written and I’m lucky those are the songs my fans want to hear. I love playing to country people, there is certainly an affinity there.”
