Dr Andrew Chow from the Leila Rose Foundation welcomed the news.
“Being the Powercor Tour de Depot partner provides an outstanding opportunity for us to expand our support to more families in Victoria,” Mr Chow said.
“Importantly, with the additional support from Powercor Tour de Depot, we can expand our tier two funding which has been limited to $30,000 per annum due to financial constraints.
“This funding is used to support molecular screening currently and may also be used for overseas treatment options when families have exhausted all options in Australia.”
The Leila Rose Foundation provides assistance, support and guidance to families affected by rare childhood cancer.
The Powercor Tour de Depot is a community ride for cyclists of all ages and abilities which will be held in Warrnambool on October 15.
