Moyne Shire is continuing progress on the Railway Place masterplan, with beautification works underway.
Demolition of the former kindergarten and maternal health buildings was also part of this masterplan.
Shire staff are constructing garden beds at the northern end of the open space, and will plant a hedge and some shade trees along the eastern side of the reserve.
The garden beds are expected to be filled with low-growing native plants and are undergoing treatment to minimise the amount of grass regrowth.
The beautification works are expected to be done by October, weather permitting.
