Bendigo Bank Warrnambool branch has handed over a cheque for $640, which assistant principal Sue Fraser said would go towards equipment for when the school makes the move to a new site.
“We’re thinking we’ll put it towards our new playground at our new school,” she said.
“The department funds only so much and we as a community have to provide some of the equipment. It will go towards that, which will be just fabulous.
“It’s an incredibly generous act on behalf of Monica at Bendigo Bank.”
Bendigo Bank Warrnambool’s Monica Phillips said the local branch participated in community projects and fund-raising on a regular basis, with bank staff choosing a cause to support.
“For the month of July it was my turn and I chose to raise money for the special developmental school,” she said.
Second-hand books were donated and sold from the branch for a gold coin donation, some money for the school was also raised through Bendigo Bank’s community enterprise program.
