Australian Hearing will be at McLean’s Pharmacy on Monday, August 28 to deliver hearing and hearing aid health checks.
The in-pharmacy hearing checks are non-invasive and take 15 minutes to complete. The test involves listening for sounds while wearing headphones.
People with hearing loss may experience a ringing sensation in the ears, difficulty hearing on the phone and asking people to repeat themselves.
Australian Hearing Warrnambool branch manager Chelsea Scott said the hearing checks could help prompt those who may be noticing signs of hearing loss to take the first step.
Ms Scott said In Australia, one in six people had hearing loss and the rate doubled for people over 60. On average, most people wait seven years before seeking help.
No appointment is necessary for the checks which are on from 9:30am – 2:30pm.
Checks will also be held in Warrnambool this week. For more information go to hearing.com.au or contact Australian Hearing on 131 797.
