The Parkinson’s Victoria representative wants walkers to come dressed in a touch of purple for their fourth annual event.
“This year we thought we’d try something different,” he said. “Everyone knows about green shoe laces and blue freeze beanies and pink ladies and now we want them to think of Parkinson’s when they see purple.”
Mr Suggett said he was hoping for a record 350 to attend this year.
“Parkinson’s can be a very lonely, unattractive disease and many choose to let it beat them,” he said. “We need a greater public support and exercise is the best way.”
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects people from all walks of life. About 70,000 Australians live with Parkinson’s.
The walk starts at the breakwater (below The Pavilion Cafe) at 11am and follows with a sausage sizzle.
