The reliable defender’s 250th match will take place in Dennington’s reserves elimination final against Nirranda.
Duncan is poised to bring in the milestone alongside long-time teammates Darcy and Sam Lewis.
“I’ve sort of finished up playing reserves with the guys I started with in the seniors years ago,” Duncan said.
“I could go through probably half a dozen guys on top of Darcy and Sam (Lewis) that’ll run out on Saturday.
“It’s the core group that started the grand final campaign that we had.”
The 36-year-old, who vice-captained the Warrnambool and District Football Netball League interleague side in 2017, decided to step down from senior competition mid-way through the season.
He said the chance to gift opportunity to a “blooming” nucleus of talented juniors rising through the Dogs’ ranks inspired his decision.
“Seeing the kids we’ve blooded into senior footy blossom at that level has been great,” Duncan said.
“I think our club will be better for it.
“I’ve had a lot of years playing with that pressure of trying to win a premiership and I’ve been getting the body right to go.
“I just thought it was time to let the kids come through.”
Duncan’s time at Dennington has produced four senior best-and-fairests and 240 senior games.
He arrived at the kennel in 2001, playing every season outside a one-year stint at Wickliffe-Lake Bolac in 2011.
