Business and events manager Peta Anderson said there would be plenty of food to sample at next week’s event.

South West TAFE will showcase a range of ‘paddock to plate’ offerings, including free mini lamb sliders, while there will also be a demonstration kitchen.

In a first for this year, there will also be a lamb burger challenge.

Ms Anderson said there were entrants from a range of schools throughout the south-west.

“The classes and the teachers have gone to a great deal of effort and embraced what the challenge is all about,” she said.

Sheepvention kicks off at the Hamilton Showgrounds on Monday, August 7.
