The midfielder-forward is part of the unbeaten Victorian team which will play South Australia in the School Sport Australia under 15 titles grand final in Western Australia on Saturday.
Herbert has managed a back complaint throughout the tournament after straining it in the first game and was forced to miss Victoria’s third match against New South Wales.
Victoria produced convincing wins in its pool games, downing Western Australia 12.11 (83) to 0.7 (7), ACT 17.12 (114) to 1.3 (9), New South Wales 12.5 (77) to 2.2 (14) and Queensland 10.5 (65) to 1.2 (8). The Big V’s defensive prowess was on show across its qualifying games, conceding just four goals.
Herbert’s South Warrnambool clubmate George Stevens will represent Victoria at the SSA under 12 championships in August.
