Top preservation and conservation experts will examine military memorabilia in an Antiques Roadshow-inspired two day event that will also teach people how to care for artefacts at home.
University of Melbourne Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation director professor Robyn Sloggett said Warrnambool residents had items that helped tell the history of Australia’s involvement in war.
“This roadshow will help families look after and better understand the stories behind war memorabilia that has been passed down to them through generations,” she said.
The event will be held on August 11 and 12 at Flagstaff Hill, and is part of a statewide roadshow to help preserve Australia’s wartime legacy.
