A special administrator was appointed in June but found nothing untoward, according to a recent Federal Court finding.
“After completion of an initial three-day visit, the special administrator determined, among other things, that the corporation was solvent and that it appeared to be well run,” the finding states.
The special administrator was appointed by the federal government’s indigenous corporations registrar Anthony Beven to investigate “irregularities in director appointments and corporation meetings, largely arising from disputes amongst the corporation’s directors and members”, as well as restructuring the corporation’s “rule book” which had “contributed to the disputes within the corporation and led to deadlock on important day-to-day operational decisions”.
The special administrator, Paul Case of Adelaide-based firm MLCS Corporate Pty Ltd, did not return calls on Thursday.
Mr Case was expected to remain in the position of special administrator until December.
