A DRIVER who continued to drive his unregistered car despite not having a licence - and knowing police knew his licence status - has been fined $2000.

Rhys Wanganeen, 26, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrate Court to a range of driving offences.
He was arrested at the weekend for failing to appear in court.
Police saw Wanganeen driving a black Holden sedan on May 1 and checks revealed he was unregistered and unlicensed.
Wanganeen was caught driving the same car again two days later, then again six days later and yet again a fortnight later - when his car was impounded.
Defence counsel Jessica Tinetti said her client was arrested at the weekend on a warrant, he was looking forward to getting out of the police cells and had organised a job in Western Australia.
"In his own words he just 'wants to pull his head in'," she said.
The solicitor said Wanganeen paid $2000 to get his car out of impoundment.
Magistrate Alan Spillane said he really didn't know what Wanganeen was up to and the defendant continued to drive despite being aware police knew he was unlicensed.
He said Wanganeen's offending was crazy and he had a dreadful criminal record in three states.
